    Lakatnik is a village in the Isker river gorge, 60km from Sofia. There are two climbing cliffs: Vrajite Dupki and Alpiiska Poliana.


    Alpiiska Poliana

    The climbers from the 30s "discovered" these rocks tracing the first routes. Since then, this cliff became the paradise for the climbers from Sofia. The longest routes are about 40m long. There are about 50 routes, most of them bolt protected, but there are some (easier than 6b or not popular) with pitons or old spits.

    Best seasons for climbing: March-May, September-November.

    Vrajite Dupki

    The development of this area started in the nineties. The routes are more than 80, bolt protected, 10-30m long. There is also a small cave with 5 routes inside and it's a good place to hide from the sunrays. Attention!- some of the bolts are broken by unknown enemies of climbers.
    Difficulties: from 5+ to 8a or more...
    Best periods for climbing: March-May and September-November.
