Sofia Petrova Foteva

Date and place of birth: 13 August 1971, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Occupation: civil engineer.

Climbing experience

1988 – first climbs
1991 – Fanski Mountains (Uzbekistan), peak Alaudin’s 400m East face, 4200 m
1992 – “Vinatzer-Castigloni”, Marmolada, Dolomites
1992 – “Cassin-Ratti” , Cima Piccolissima di Lavaredo, Dolomites
1993 – “Bonatti-Ghigo”, Grand Capucin, French Alps
1993 – Bulgarian sport climbing vice-champion
1992, 1993, 1994 – many routes on the Aiguilles du Chamonix (VI - VIII)
1994 – Pilier Central du Freney, Mont Blanc, Alps
1995 – Oasan, French Alps, Aiguille Dibona, 6c
1996 – Bulgarian sport climbing champion
1996 – “Tempi Moderni”, 6c/7a Marmolada, Dolomites
1996 – “Comici-Dimai” 6b, Cima Grande di Lavaredo, Dolomites
1997 – 25/11 birth of son Peter
1998 – “Slovenian Route”, Trango Nameless Tower 6257 m, Karakoram (Pakistan), Second lady to climb Trnago Tower
1999 – Bulgarian ice climbing champion
1999 – Second place in the media inquiry "Mountaineer of 1999"
