In 1984, after the ascend of the West Ridge of Everest, with Kiril Doskov, we did "Directe Americaine"  on Petit Dru in ten hours.

Nine years later, in 1993, I spent my summer holidays in Chamonix. I enjoyed the magnificent granit on the Aiguilles de Chamonix, Petit Dru (Bonatti Pillar) and Grand Capucin (Bonatti-Ghigo).

Pilier Central du Freney

This summer the weather in the Alps was terrible - rain, snow and storms.
When we heard the forecast for tree sunny days, we left our tent near the Lac Bleu and took the telepherique to Aiguille du Midi. We slept in the bivouac "La Fourche" and the next day reached the bivouac "Les Eccles".
Next morning we started our climb. The holds were covered with snow and we couldn't climb fast. We bivouacked at the foot of "La Chandelle". The second day in changeable weather we reached Mont Blanc and went down to Aiguille du Midi in a real storm. For Sofia and Svetoslav this was the first climb on this altitude and for Nikolay Mont Blanc was the sixth summit in his "7 summits" collection.

Note: Better access to Freney - from Italy.
